If you know you are having kidney pain, you should contact your provider and discuss your symptoms and see how you should proceed.
If you are SURE about your pain being from your kidney (i.e.,suggesting you have had it before) with the possibility of having a kidney infection or kidney stone, then you want to get these diagnosed and treated asap. Thus, I recommend seeing your doctor right away and having the appropriate tests ordered (like a quick urine test), and he/she can tell you if it is an emergent situation or if you can wait awhile. BUT, if you can't see your doctor in a day or two, then I would either go to an ER or to an "urgent care center."
