Sprained foot?

I banged my feet against cement and metal 2 1/2 months ago. One foot is worse than the other. I elevate my feet, use a cold rag, take Tylenol and do a very little walking. I got a cortisone injection to the front of my ankle 2 days ago. I think that maybe helping, but the back of my ankle is still stiff and my toes hurt when walking. Advice on what else to be doing is helpful.

You should have x-rays taken, and if the pain is persistent after 2.5 months, you might also need an MRI to find out if more damage was done by your injuries than you might be aware of.
You may want to consider Physical Therapy. The steroid injection would not work in only two days
It will take time for the injection to fully take effect.
Make sure you are wearing good supportive shoes. You may need to be braced or taped. I would see a sports Podiatric physician in your area and get an X-ray of each foot. Ice 20 minutes of each hour. If you don’t have stomach problems, take 2 Aleve every 12 hours with food. Any nausea, vomiting, or diarrhea, discontinue.

Good luck,

Continue to follow up with whoever gave you the injection and discuss possible imaging studies such as X-ray and MRI if pain is not improving.
