Sudden complete exhaustion?

My wife, normally healthy, (but overweight), just before bed, said that it felt like her thinking was very fuzzy. This morning, she got up to use the bathroom, urinated, and came back to bed. She felt extremely weak and had trouble for several minutes where she couldn't get her leg up high enough to climb back into bed. I was not in the room at the time. She says that her thinking still feels fuzzy and she feels exhausted. She is having trouble talking at a normal level. Her speech is clear and her thinking/discussions sound normal, except that she is talking at a very low level. She is not on any medication, but when she got up during the night, she had taken 2 Aspirin. She can move all extremities normally except that she is extremely weak.

Some of the symptoms you mention could occur in a stroke, but generalized weakness is more likely a medical problem such as a low blood level of potassium or a low blood sugar. She should see her family doctor quickly if possible, and if they are not available, then go to an urgent care.

I hope she is feeling better as of this reply. Regardless though her symptoms are very concerning for possible TIA  or evolving stroke. The fact that she took aspiring may have prevented such. Please contact your primary or go to the emergency room. This needs to be further evaluated and monitored closely. PLEASE DO NOT DELAY SEEKING CARE.
