Thank you for your question. You will need to get an Evaluation from a licensed Acupuncturist in your area. Insomnia can be caused by a variety of issues. I cannot tell you what pressure points to treat your insomnia. It's best to get an in person consultation and speak with and Acupuncturist who may be able to help you. Good Luck! Sincerely, Your in Health!
Depending what is the cause of your insomnia the treatment is different.
You can try giving pressure on point DU20 or the vertex of your head a couple of times. Or do a light Tai-Chi, giving light pressure to your whole body from head to toes, including your arms, doing a rubbing motion for 15-20 minutes.
I would advise you to see an acupuncturist. There are many different causes of insomnia and it’s important to be assessed correctly
The common points for insomnia are GB20, LI4, SP6, SP9, Yin Tang. There are 5 differentiations regarding insomnia. The best situation is to get an acupuncturist exam you, to find out the proper differentiation then use the proper points.
Acupuncture is an excellent therapy to treat insomnia. Unfortunately, there are many conditions that could cause insomnia so we cannot provide a point prescription. I would recommend making an appointment with an acupuncturist so he can further help you.
Insomnia can be the result of various conditions like liver qi stagnation or gallbladder deficiency or even heart and spleen/kidney disharmony. So the points to treat insomnia heavily depend on the diagnosis. But common points like hegu (large intestine 4) & taichong (liver 3) are great universal points that may help do the trick. Check with your primary if alternative medicine is a good option for your condition.
You can try pressing Shenmen point HT7 and Neiguan point PC6.
Acupuncture is very effective for insomnia. You can search for a point called 'A mian' for sleep support. However, it's important to know the cause of insomnia. Is it stress? Is your body not producing melatonin? Is it menopause related? Does it usually happen after your menstrual cycle? You need to find the root cause of insomnia in order to treat it effectively. Please see an established acupuncturist for your treatment. Acupressure won't be enough and as effective.

While there are no specific points for insomnia, since the TCM diagnoses need to be considered, and in TCM we aim to find the root cause of the sleep impairment, I suggest basic points such as Yin Tang, Ear Shenmen, Heart7, Lung7, Liver3 and Kidney3.
Again, points change based on TCM diagnoses and the many root causes of insomnia.
The points for insomnia depend on why you have insomnia. The acupuncturist will diagnose and treat each person individually based on their unique physiology. Acupoints may be chosen on the hands, wrists, feet, ankles, ear, and scalp. You can massage your own ears, scalp, and bottoms of feet every night and see if this helps you.
insomnia might cause by varieties of factors, for example if its stress related then some points on the liver channel helps with the insomnia, if its related with stomach issues then stomach channel points helps with it. if you just wanna find out a point and massage it yourself to help with sleep, try to search the point "an mian xue"
I would recommend taking a self-help class in acupressure. They use the same points as acupuncture. You will learn much about how to help your sleep by stimulating the right acupressure points for you. Dr. Miura

It depends on what is causing your insomnia. I encourage you to book a session with your practitioner of choice to get help with relief.
They will be placed in multiple areas of the body such as face, head, ears and arms
The point most indicated for insomnia is An Mian, but there are many others to support it.
The acupuncture points to treat insomnia depend on why the individual is having trouble sleeping and whether they have trouble falling asleep or staying asleep.
There is no magic point for all insomnias.... that is western medicine, not East Asian medicine. Find a pro. Most importantly, since you are thinking about doing acupuncture, do find a qualified and real acupuncturist! Anything less would be you not really trying this system of healing. Find a fully trained professional in Chinese medicine, possessing a master's degree AND 5+ years experience in this field. Medical Doctors, Osteopaths, Chiropractors, and even Physical Therapists (dry needling) are able to do what looks like acupuncture (but isn't) with a couple weekends of training or less. I would NOT let any of these inadequately trained people NEAR ME. :-)
Acupuncture is extremely complicated and complex, so there are no "points" for any particular problem, including insomnia.
There are no specific or individual points for insomnia. Acupuncture as part of Chinese medicine treats the individual person and the individual pattern that balances their body to resolve their ailments. The points that would treat insomnia for you would be different for the points that would treat someone else.
There are many acupuncture points that can treat insomnia. It depends what caused the insomnia to occur. Then, choose some points to treat the root, then the insomnia will gone away.

The short answer here is: in Chinese medicine there is no one point for the treatment of anything. The point or points that might be used are going to depend on why, from the perspective of the Chinese diagnostic model, any given individual is experiencing that issue. Different people can experience the same or similar health issues for a wide variety of underlying reasons. Each of those different underlying reasons has a different treatment. Without diagnosing and understanding why *you* are experiencing insomnia, it's impossible to give you a list of points.
