The prostate biopsies results can take from several days to 2 – 3 weeks. It all depends on the pathology findings and what additional stains and tests needs to be performed for the final diagnosis. Pain in the area between the anus and the scrotum is common from few days to several weeks. Also, blood in the urine can be found for a few days to few weeks. Fever, pain or burning sensation during urination could be an indication of infection. Consult your healthcare provider. Thank you.
Infection, bleeding, hematoma mainly.
The most common side effects of prostate biopsy are hematuria, dysuria, infection, hematospermia, and hematochezia.
Pain, bleeding, pressure, perhaps cramping. usually not severe and lasts a few hours or maybe a day. If symptoms are severe and/or you go into the second day after the biopsy, contact the urologist that performed the procedure.
