Too vague, usually take an X-ray to see how the graft is. Once the tissue closes up, you can no longer visualize the graft (as it should be).
Many times body does not accept the material, many times failed due to infection. This way the tooth remains weak ,loose and tender.
Signs of a failed bone graft may include, but are not limited to pain or infection. Your provider will usually do a follow-up X-ray or CT scan to check the graft. Sometimes resorption of a graft may occur, but may not exhibit pain or infection.
