What can cause dizziness in a child?

My daughter is 5 years old. I want to know what can cause dizziness in a child?

Contrary to what you may have heard or seen, dizzy spells in a child are rarely cause for concern of a serious nature. In the vast majority of cases, dizzy spells are simply from volume depletion, or not enough blood circulating to the brain, so the brain becomes “dizzy” and wants to rest. This is a hydration issue. The child simply needs to drink fluids and have a high salt diet for a few days. Water is the best fluid. Sports drinks are not very good in that many of them have too much sugar so the absorption is low; some sports drinks are better, but you will have to read labels. In rare cases, the dizzy spells can be due to cardiac or neurological problems. This is best sorted out by your physician. If the child is actually passing out, they need to be seen ASAP.
