The most common cause of back pain in young people is attributed to basically 3 things: (1) poor sleep habits; (2) tight hamstrings; (3) dietary excesses/abnormalities. No matter what age, you gotta get minimum 7 hours uninterrupted sleep. It also helps to do those hamstring stretches right before bed (also after any significant time of exercise whether it be walking, jogging, cycling, gym, yoga, etc.). All athletes know that you DON'T stretch before a workout, you stretch afterwards! (Before any workout, you are supposed to warm up: brisk walk/run in place for 60 secs, jumping jacks, treadmill, etc., whatever it takes to get the body temperature up slightly.) There are very, very few people your age that have structural lumbar spine issues… scoliosis is the exception, as are injuries, but I doubt that you have any mechanical issues at all with your spine (vertebral bodies and the discs, etc.).

Yikes, and you are only 18? Have you been checked for autoimmune conditions? Have you tried over the counter anti-inflammatories? I would recommend nerve conduction studies and an MRI of your back.
Hi, there are a lot of things that can cause numbness. It is possible that there could be a herniated disc in your neck or lower back. Depends on where your symptoms are specifically. There are also a lot of other possibilities and you should see a pain management doctor in person. Hope you feel better!
You MRIs Brain and entire spine. See a neurologist.
