“What does the hospital do when you have a stroke?”
I am a 55 year old male. I want to know what does the hospital do when you have a stroke?

CT head to rule out a head bleed type stroke, and if you are within a certain window of time to be given clot busters, and are a candidate for it, we give you that and monitor in the ICU for improvement (or, God forbid, worsening) if not we work up for the cause of stroke and look for how we can prevent future strokes. Also, work on physical therapy or anything else if that's needed.
