I crown is placed in the abutment when an abutment is fabricated!!!
An impression is taken to place a crown on the abutment. The crown is cemented or screwed into the abutment and you are done.
Typically the abutment and crown are placed at the same time by the general dentist. They are either connected, or placed separately and crown is cemented on. I prefer connected (screw retained), if possible.
When your abutment is placed on your implant this means that you will be restoring your tooth with an implant crown. You will be able to enjoy your new tooth as you would any other. Congratulations.
