I would speak with your surgeon’s office to see if you are allowed to ice your hand. If it’s red and or swollen at the incision site, you need to have it assessed immediately. Take care.
Hello, There are many options to treat postoperative hand pain.
It is best to discuss with your Hand Surgeon, what would be best for you.

Massage therapy, Acupuncture with Moxibustion and physical therapy.
There are lots of options from medication options- NSAIDS, tramadol, opioids, anticonvulsants, local anesthetics, or muscle relaxants. Can also try electircal stimulation, cold laser therapy, Ice/heat, Topicals, bracing, Occupational or Physical Therapy, Acupuncture, meditation, etc. Pain is inevitable, suffering is optional, because pain is treatable.
