“How long does it take to recover from hand surgery?”
I am a 31 year old male. I will have hand surgery. How long does it take to recover from hand surgery?

Unfortunately, that is a very broad question. Some hand surgeries recover in just one or two weeks. Other surgeries take one or two years.
As you might expect, depends on the surgery performed. Tendon repair, 2 months; simple laceration, 5 days or so, etc.
It depends on type of the surgery. For example, if its a fracture, carpal tunnel, ligament reconstruction, trigger finger release, or Dequervein's release. Depending on type of surgery, it can be one month to 6 months.
Thanks.
Thanks.
Unfortunately, I cannot answer this question, as this varies upon the type of procedure that you are undergoing. Simple procedures such as a trigger finger release or a carpal tunnel release may only require a couple of weeks to recover and you can use your hand the next day. Complex reconstructions for trauma or arthritis can sometimes take months to fully recover. I would recommend you ask your surgeon about your particular procedure. Good luck.
