What is going on with my wrist?

My left wrist has been hurting a lot when doing pushups. On that wrist, there is a hard bump that feels like a bone. Is this something that needs attention?

Hard to tell from the photo and your description, but without a history of trauma, would think it is likely due to a ganglion on the back of your wrist. Often theses can be resolved with draining the cyst, sometimes they require surgical removal. Best to see a hand surgeon who can examine you and make recommendations.

If this occurred after trauma you need an x-ray and exam.
It looks like you have a ganglion cyst. If it bothers you, then you should see a hand surgeon in consultation. Treatment options are either aspiration or surgical excision. If it does not bother you, then nothing necessarily needs to be done.
