What kind of anesthesia is used during vein surgery?

I will have varicose vein surgery. What kind of anesthesia is used during vein surgery?

Either general anesthesia or regional (spinal, epidural or numbing an arm), depending on the location of the varicose vein(s) being treated. Depends also on the surgeon, anesthesiologist and even the patient, a lot of variables.
It does depend on exactly what you are having done, but the overwhelming majority of varicose vein treatments are done under local anesthesia with no need for any sedation.
