What medications help with low blood pressure?

I have low blood pressure. What medications help with low blood pressure?

The most commonly used drug class for low blood pressure (hypotension) is called vasopressers (pressers for short). This includes drugs like epinephrine, norepinephrine, ephedrine, and isoproterenol. There is also a drug called midodrine (also a vesopresser) this super common and usually a first step. Be sure to ask your doctor about medications, side effects and contraindications!

Thank you,

Hi,

Low blood pressure can be treated with medication, a common one is midodrine. Low blood pressure can also be related to dehydration or sudden changes in position (lying to sitting, standing from sitting). Make sure to drink at least 64 ounces of water daily and change positions slowly.
