Prenatal screening tests are optional. Screening tests include tests for DOWNS Syndrome and for Spinal Cord problems and Spina Bifida. The Screenings permit advanced knowledge. Genetic screenings can also include other genetic changes such as XXY syndrome, blood typing, RH typing. Again these are optional and there is no compelling reason to elect genetic screenings. Rex
