Orthopedist Questions Orthopedist

When should I see an orthopedist for shoulder pain?

I am a 37 year old female and I have shoulder pain. When should I see an orthopedist for shoulder pain?

Two cases:

1. Weakness meaning abolition or decreased muscular strength. This suggests rupture.
2. Persistent pain may require infiltration with steroid or to reconsider the diagnosis.
If rest (stopping whatever activity that causes pain) and Advil, 3 tablets with each meal, do not make your pain substantially better after a week, then see an orthopedic surgeon.

Hope it helps!!
