Why are my ribs sticking out after surgery?

I had a tether surgery for my scoliosis about 4 months ago and I've noticed that my ribs stick out significantly more than they did before the surgery, and I don't think they did at all. I woke up numb on my stomach and I'm still a little numb but it's improved, I'm not sure if that would contribute to it.

It’s really hard to comment on this without seeing the patient and X-rays. If the nerves between the ribs are pinched it can cause numbness of the chest or belly. You need to talk to your surgeon.
