I want to know why I have cataplexy with no signs of narcolepsy?

There are no other diseases that exist that have cataplexy as a symptom other than narcolepsy. Cataplexy is a loss of muscle tone during dream sleep intruding into daytime wakefulness.
Having isolated cataplexy without any of the other symptoms of narcolepsy is exceedingly rare. I suggest that you see a neurologist or sleep specialist for further evaluation. There area very effective medications for treatment of cataplexy.
I'm afraid the question is stated in a way that inhibits the answer. Narcolepsy is defined by the presence of cataplexy. So, if you have cataplexy, you have the most important sign of narcolepsy. If you sometimes fall asleep without intending to sleep, you don't even need a sleep test to make the diagnosis. It will be really important to see a sleep doctor near home, and please don't drive if you have untreated cataplexy.
