OMS (Oral surgeons) treat facial fractures, tumors of the jaws, neck, preform reconstructive surgery of the face, mouth, and jaws, and also provide outpatient anesthesia services. In general, removal of wisdom teeth involves speciality level of care your dentist is not trained to provide. Additionally, you may want to be sedated during your procedure, and the majority of general dentists are not trained to provide this service.
Not necessarily. A well-trained dentist can perform wisdom tooth extractions as well.
