Why does my stomach hurt after gastric bypass?

I had a gastric bypass surgery. After the surgery my stomach hurts bad. Is it normal? Should I see a doctor?

There are a number of reasons as to why you may have pain after bypass surgery, including: distension of the small remaining portion of the stomach after eating, ulceration or inflammation at the anastamotic site. You need to be seen.
It can take up to 6 months.
It is normal to have pain after surgery but it should improve day to day. Post-operative pain should be addressed by the surgeon so I encourage you to contact him or her.
