Why does my tooth hurt after my filling?

I am a 24 year old female who had a tooth filling yesterday. Now my tooth really stings. What can I do?

Go back to your dentist.
Call the dentist office and tell them the problem. It may have been a really deep filling that is close to the nerve. The bite may need adjusted. May just need to give it time to settle down
This is fairly common, especially in a young person. Give it time and it should gradually get better. Sensitivity toothpaste can help this.
Call your dentist. Your restoration may need a slight adjustment. How your teeth come together is very important, our teeth can shift slightly and cause a lot of pain.
It is normal to experience sensitivity after a dental filling. However, if the sensitivity continues then you can see your dentist for a follow up.
