Will a deep cleaning stop gum disease?

I am a 37 year old female. I want to know if a deep cleaning will stop gum disease?

Yes, if it's properly done.
Once you have periodontal disease, you will always have it. Periodontal disease is a disease of the bone and once bone is gone it will not grow back. The deep cleaning will help the disease not to progress.
It will help. Nothing stops it. I believe everyone has it some more than others. Home are and professional cleanings!
It really depends on the severity of the periodontal disease. If the condition is mild, it will definitely slow it down and sometimes it may stop it. If the condition is more advance, you may need more advance treatment in addition to a deep cleaning. In any case, proper oral hygiene and timely checks will be a key to your success.
Yes. But you have to be committed to routine cleanings to maintain healthy gums
Deep cleaning will clean out the bacteria under the gums that cause the gum disease, and the gums get healthier. It does not stop the problem, as more food and bacteria will go back under the gums like they did in the first place. The only way to stop the gum disease is to stop the cause of the disease. (Think having an infected splinter in your finger, and taking antibiotic, but leaving the splinter.) You have to be able to keep the plaque and bacteria from hiding from your cleaning of your teeth. Sometimes the deep cleaning can get the gums
healthy enough that just doing a good job at home of using floss and brushing regularly, and seeing the dental hygienist is enough to stop the disease.
It will help prevent further bone loss associated with Periodontal Disease, but must be followed with maintenance cleanings, typically every 3-4 months when Periodontal Disease related deep pocketing is present due to bone loss.
A deep cleaning will be part of the treatment plan for gum disease prevention.
