Will a gum abscess go away without antibiotics?

I have a gum abscess. Will a gum abscess go away without antibiotics?

We need to look at it and decide
It is important to determine the source of the gum abscess. If the abscess is caused by an infected tooth, antibiotics will not resolve the issue. The tooth will need a root canal or to be extracted. If the abscess is of periodontal origin, then that source must be addressed. Simply put, an antibiotic is not likely to resolve a gum abscess.
