So, home pregnancy tests are EXTREMELY accurate and there it is virtually impossible for it to be a false negative. The most likely thing is that you are just ovulating irregularly. It is the most common reason for the visit to the OB/GYN (other than the annual exam). I certainly would not worry about it. If it starts to annoy you, you can ask your OB/GYN to put you on the birth control pill.
