Are dental hygienists still working during the coronavirus?

I am a 21 year old female. I want to know are dental hygienists still working during the coronavirus?

Yes! Oral hygiene affects our immune system so some people get dental cleaning even more often to boost their immune system!
Yes, and you will be very safe during your appointment
There are some working but the numbers have dwindled for a few reasons related to the pandemic.
Yes with appropriate PPE and avoiding aerosol generation.
That depends on the dental office, however, the ADA (American Dental Association) recommended that patients maintain their oral health and routine cleanings to prevent other health issues. Dental offices use appropriate personal protective equipment and have high sanitation standards as part of their normal patient care. At our practice, Dr. Mastro installed an air purifying system prior to COVID–19 to further protect our patients and staff. Our hygienists are working again after being off for 2 weeks.

Yes.

Rev. Dr. Laurentis Barnett
Yes starting form May 26th in NJ
At this time, the American Dental Association is recommending that only emergency dental procedures be performed. These include root canals, abscesses, and facial trauma.

Unfortunately, cleanings by hygienists are not being performed at this time. The ADA has tentatively set April 26th as the date when non-emergent procedures can be performed. Keep in touch with your general Dentist to see if this date changes.
No. Cleanings are not considered emergency treatment.
