“I had a bad headache last night around the left side of my brain. Should I be worried?”
I am a 37 year old man. Last evening I had a bad pain around the left side of my head and I had to take ibuprofen. I get headaches extremely rarely but never that bad, I try not to ever take painkillers but the pain was almost unbearable. Could this be a sign of something else? I feel fine after sleeping.

Dear patient,
That could be an isolated event, since you do not mention any other symptoms or problems, and it seems to have responded to Ibuprofen, since you do not claim otherwise. If it recurs, it could be the onset of a migraine, "Migraines respond to sleep," and at which time it is wiser to consult a doctor, preferably a neurologist!
if it does not recur do not worry about it.

Probably not. Unicranial headaches are usually migraine but can sometimes be something else. Fact that it responded to pain med & sleep says this particular headache was not significant. If you get a recurring pattern, then see a Neurologist.
