Can a child get the flu even if vaccinated?

My 7 year old son received the flu vaccine. Can a child get the flu even if vaccinated?

Oh, yes - he can still get the flu. The flu strains that are vaccinated with every year change according to some educated guesswork but doesn't always match every flu strain that goes around. The vaccine is helpful in preventing the flu but far from perfect. Even knowing this, I still recommend getting vaccinated.
If the flu vaccine does not perfectly match the strains of flu that occur this year he may get the flu. It is usually a much milder case.
