“Can chiropractors adjust your ribs?”
I am a 32 year old male. I want to know if chiropractors can adjust your ribs?

YES! I adjust them all the time. These joints, (along the spine), are among the most mobile, and hence, some of the easiest to subluxate (mis-align). The good news is that also makes them some of the easiest to correct. The real question is, "what's causing this to happen?" Most often it is "postural distortion"... this pre-stresses the joint structures, and then simple things like "sleeping in the wrong position", or sneezing/coughing, or strenuous exercise can exacerbate the problem. Get checked by a qualified doctor!
Yes chiropractors do adjust ribs if needed. Back pin or restricted breathing can be caused by subluxated ribs. An exam and proper adjusting techniques would help.
Yes, they can. Ribs are connected to the sternum and the spine. There are joints where they attach to both. When ribs become stuck or slightly misaligned, manipulation can help to restore normal position and motion patterns.
Yes, they can if you there is no reason not to. A chiropractor should take a detailed history and do a thorough examination to determine if you are a good candidate for chiropractic treatment of the ribs or rib-cage. You will want to rule out bone disease like osteoporosis before getting chiropractic treatment.
Absolutely they can. It something that I do daily when in practice. It’s very common and responds well to chiropractic adjustments.
Yes, chiropractors can very effectively and safely adjust the joints of the rib cage, both in back and in front, as long as they have taken the specific course work to perform these treatments.
Yes, ribs can be adjusted manually or with adjusting instruments. In my practice, I see this quite commonly.
Yes ribs commonly go out of place and can cause a lot of pain. Chiropractors are trained in adjusting ribs.
