Absolutely. Standing or walking for an extended period of time due to gravity can cause swelling. Compression stockings or socks will help with this also elevating your limbs above your heart will help reduce swelling
Not usually will it cause swollen ankles because you are using the mechanical pump of your calf to move fluid away from the ankles. What could be the issue is leaky veins causing more fluid just because you are standing so can do a compression sock of 15-20mmHg to help with that.
If the cause of the swelling is due to an arthritis condition, then yes. Most likely it’s a venous I sufficiency problem, which needs compression therapy.
Excessive walking can cause swelling of the foot and or ankle are overworking. recommend you see a podiatrist (foot and ankle surgeon) to diagnose the problem and implement the appropriate treatment
The most common cause of swollen ankles is fluid retention and venous insufficiency. Many women develop venous insufficiency after pregnancies. But it is a problem that develops over time in many people. Walking too much is not a cause of swelling. There is another reason your ankles are swollen.
Normally not, but if your sodium level is high, yes, and also vascular issues as well as some metabolic diseases.
Not usually though some people, especially older women, have ankle swelling in summer months and at the end of the day.
