Do babies ears hurt when teething?

My child is teething and has an earache. Do babies ears hurt when teething?

Usually ear aches are not associated with teething. Occasionally some fever occurs with teething
It depends on the tooth that is erupting. Referred pain to the ear may occur when the molar is erupting or carious, but usually not the front teeth (incisors).
Pain from teething can be referred to the ears. However when they are teething there is more of a risk of having an ear infection. If fussiness persists he would need his ears checked.
