Yes! Muscle pain can be caused by a variety of other injuries that chiropractors are trained to treat. Majority of my younger patients are here for muscle pain and have been seeing results due to adjustments and therapies.
Yes
Some do. Look for chiropractors that offer rehabilitation services like Active Release Technique, Graston Therapy, IASTM, DNS those certifications typically mean they work with muscles on a regular basis.
Yes, chiropractors do treat muscle pain. However, it is more important to do a comprehensive evaluation to determine if your arm and back pain is in fact muscle pain versus some other pathology such as an injured disc in your spine. They can then determine the best course of treatment for your injuries and/or refer to other providers if necessary. I hope you feel better soon.
Chiropractors are adept and treating and managing musculoskeletal pain and/or disorders. Muscles being a component of the musculoskeletal system have the potential of being treated by a competent chiropractor. However, I must be clear in saying that treating muscular pain is not our primary objective. The principles and logic upon which Chirpractic was founded upon the premise of the correction of a spinal/extra-spinal subluxation, thereby relieving the pressure of the nerves in order to allow for maximal trophic inner caution to every cell, tissue and organ of the human body.

However, many chiropractors are adept in the various techniques that address primarily muscular issues such as Trigger Point therapy, Myofascial Release therapy and Active Release therapy.

Each of these techniques address specific symptoms of musculotendinous origin. Active Release in particular is very effective in treating various types of tendonitis.

The effectiveness of the therapy really depends on the competency of the practitioner. I would advise you to do your due diligence in researching a specific practitioner before electing to seek care from him or her. I hope this was helpful in answering your question.

Thank you
Yes, chiropractors specialize in musculoskeletal pain treatment.
Thanks for asking because that is often a question I get in the office. The word treat is a tricky one it implies we are doing something to cure or fix your issue but in our office the philosophy is to allow the body to heal itself by removing the interference in the nervous system by giving a chiropractic adjustment (realignment). We see a tremendous amount of our patients who have arm and back pain get great long lasting results with chiropractic. Give it a try and you’ll be pleasantly surprised.
Yes I do. I use many natural therapies and treatments.
Hello,

Yes, chiropractors are neuromusculoskeletal specialists.

Sincerely,

Chiropractic and massage are not competitive. Chiropractic is a licensed doctor who does diagnosis and either preforms and/or recommends treatment. Massage is a treatment that the DC (Doctor of Chiropractic) may utilize. The question is what is causing the muscle pain and that requires diagnosis.
Yes, chiropractic physicians treat muscle pain and a variety of muscle problems. In reality, muscle strain and tightness, and muscle imbalances on opposite sides of a joint can cause a whole host of problems. Headaches are often caused my muscle strain, so are tennis elbow, arm numbness, low back pain, heel spurs, shin splints and many other conditions.

Most people age poorly due to muscle imbalances that many refer to as “poor posture”. For example, tight, short and overdeveloped internal shoulder rotator muscles (i.e., subscapularis muscles), combined with weak thoracic spine extensor muscles and short and tight pectoralis (pec major and minor) muscles cause a slumped forward posture. It is entirely preventable, but people need to start early with exercises that strengthen and stretch the correct muscles. Chiropractic physicians are experts in assessing muscle imbalances and how they affect posture, cause injuries and put a person at great risk for injury. There are many examples beyond this one. We are experts in clinical biomechanics.

Our training is much, much more than most—if not all—personal trainers. Personal trainers cannot diagnose, so their training is not nearly as much as the training of a chiropractic physician or physical therapist. Your best bet for muscle problems are DCs or DPTs. The treatments are often identical.
Yes, chiropractic adjustments relieve tension in the joints, thereby allowing muscles to relax and alleviating muscle pain. Now, the type of practice from one chiropractor to another varies quite a bit. Therefore, some chiropractors do things that other chiropractors do not. Some only adjust the joints of the spine, while others adjust the joints of the extremities as well. Some only do adjustments, while others use physio-therapies such as electrical muscle stimulation, which can help relax muscles and reduce inflammation (another common cause of pain). Some chiropractors incorporate massage or other soft tissue techniques, along with their other treatments, which can also be very helpful. I recommend that you ask whether they do extremity adjusting, use physio-therapy modalities, and/or massage techniques when you call to make an appointment. While the spinal adjustments will help a great deal, I believe you will see more improvement, more quickly if other techniques are also utilized.
Yes, most definitely. Most people associate Chiropractic care with alignment and correct various joints of the body. Muscles often cross over a joint or connect one joint with another. Correcting joints help muscles too reset. Chiropractic care is good for pain, relaxing muscles, and releasing tension. Personally, I always check for muscle balance and muscle strength. There are many natural techniques in Chiropractic to ensure muscles are working 100%.
Yes
Yes, but there are certainly more questions that need to be addressed in order to determine that it is only a muscle pain and not a symptom of something else. Typical initial history questions include the onset, the location, the severity, duration and radiation of any symptoms. That’s just to start. Obviously, there would be follow-up questions. But again, the short answer would be yes.

Yes, chiropractors are specialist in musculoskeletal disorder due to muscle tension or possibly misalignment of spine or joints.
I’d say at least half of what we treat is muscle pain. There’s also a chance you think it’s a muscle problem and it’s not. Very often muscles will hurt or even spasm to protect a more serious underlying problem. Chiropractors are good at figuring out what the underlying problem is and fixing it.
Yes, via the nervous system. The brain is the master controller of the body, the spinal cord is an extension of the brain and is protected by the spine, as the spinal cord travels down the spine the nerves branch out and control the function of ALL things in your body, every tissue, organ, structure, including muscles.
No.
Yes they do. This is more of an issue for a Sports Chiropractor Specialty.
Absolutely, your spine is attached to muscles that need to be addressed either prior or post manipulation.
