“Does acupuncture improve egg quality?”
I am a 30 year old female and I want to get pregnant. Does acupuncture improve egg quality?

this question is complex. Acupuncture can help with vitality and improve your fertility. The eggs we have in our bodies are the some ones we have from birth.

I do not know. I have done fertility treatments with great success though. My understanding of science is that eggs are created when a female is still a fetus and not generated in adulthood so theoretically it is impossible to improve quality of the eggs specifically.. yet i imagine it could improve the health of the ovaries and thus how those eggs are nourished/nurtured which could indirectly cause improvement... but that's my best guess.
Hello,
Acupuncture and herbal medicine can work well to improve the quality of egg health, sustaining a healthy pregnancy, and a healthy delivery.

Acupuncture is used for infertility. To regulate periods, to promote egg production, to improve sperm count, to help retain the embryo/fetus in the uterus, things like that.
There are many studies that support the positive effects of acupuncture with egg quality. Clinically, we see many patients with reproductive health concerns. Often we suggest herbal medicine or micronutrient supplementation with acupuncture treatments for even more benefits.
Hello!
Acupuncture does improve egg quality by increasing blood flow and energy to the pelvis. Acupuncture also works to balance all the systems. This improves wellness and the likelihood of conception. In my practice, I work with my patients on diet and lifestyle also.

Hi, thank you for your question. Many types of research show that acupuncture improves the rate of fertility by increasing blood flow to the uterus. Acupuncture can regulate the menstrual cycle, ovulation, hormone level, as well as help improve the quality of the eggs and sperm.
Hi! Sure! Egg quality would be one of the many factors regarding the fertility that would be improved with acupuncture, due to the increase in circulation and absorption of nutrients.
Hello,
Thank you for reaching out with your question! Although there are no definitive medical studies on this, it is believed that Acupuncture may improve egg quality. Acupuncture also improves the chance for fertility by increasing blood flow to the uterus, regulating the menstrual cycle and ovulation, and balancing hormones levels.
I hope this helps!

Hello! Yes, acupuncture does improve egg quality. Usually with the combination of acupuncture and herbs.
Great question. I have not seen the research on egg quality, though have noted good research on fertility and flow with the lining.
It can, in theory. Though I haven't found any studies that fully support a direct link, it's suggested that by working through aspects such as regulating your cycle, ovulation, and hormone levels, increasing blood flow to the uterus and ovaries, and treating other conditions like endometriosis or early menopause, acupuncture would help improve the surrounding circumstances and therefore also improve egg quality. If it's age related, however (which shouldn't be a problem until around age 40), there unfortunately isn't much that can be done to reverse a natural deterioration process.
Acupuncture is helpful for infertility issues but it does not change the quality of eggs per se because your eggs because they were with you since birth. Sperm is constantly being developed and die off but eggs are already there and so not renew.
Fertility is an area I don't really work in, so I had to go look up some information for you. It appears as though the answer is a tentative "yes". Here's a link to a site with some information specific to acupuncture, fertility and egg quality:

When it comes to fertility issues, there are two things which can be critical to achieving good results:
1. You need to see a provider who attended a school of Chinese medicine and is licensed in your state as an acupuncturist. Not everyone who offers "acupuncture" attended a Chinese medicine school - make sure you ask and make sure the person is licensed as an acupuncturist and not providing "acupuncture like" services under some other kind of practice license (like a chiropractor or a physical therapist).
2. You need to see a licensed acupuncturist who specializes in fertility issues. It's a common specialty and if you're in or near any kind of a large city, there should be at least one and possibly several licensed acupuncturists who only or primarily work with fertility patients.
If you need help finding a local provider and you're not in CA, you can use the "Find a Practitioner" look up at NCCAOM.org.
