“I can hear a buzz sound all the time. What is it?”
I hear a buzzing sound in my ears all day long. It's kind of like an annoying fly is just around my ear and nowhere else. What could this sound be? Is it serious?

Sounds heard in the ear that are not from an external source is called tinnitus. Tinnitus is often a by product of a hearing loss, but can occur for other reasons in the absence of a hearing loss. I would recommend that you contact an audiologist for a comprehensive hearing test. Tinnitus cannot be cured, but can be managed. Angela R. This ringing in the ears is called Tinnitus. It’s a very common symptom, affecting more than 50 million Americans. Tinnitus itself is just a symptom, so the seriousness of your situation depends on the condition causing the buzzing sensation. There are many causes of Tinnitus from earwax buildup to eardrum damage to vestibular disorder and many more. Therefore, the condition causing Tinnitus might be serious. It’s best to consult an Audiologist or Otolaryngologist (ENT Doctor).
It sounds like tinnitus which is a phantom sound that the brain produces sometimes due to noise exposure, hearing loss, etc. Tinnitus is very common and usually is not something to be concerned about; however, I would see an audiologist to have a hearing test done to see if you have something in your ear(s) causing it (i.e., wax impaction) or if there is hearing loss.
