How are seasonal allergies diagnosed?

I believe my son has seasonal allergies that begin once spring begins. When spring hits, he usually has similar symptoms to a cold. What's usually done to diagnose seasonal allergies in children?

You can see an allergist who is trained in allergy testing and treatment and they can do easy superficial scratch tests to determine the specific inhalants your child is allergic to.
Depending on the symptom severity usually determined by being refractory to medication use, testing for allergies as performed at an allergist's office. He will properly interpret the results for you and then suggest appropriate medication for relief.
