Use lubricating eye drops (refresh or systane) 4 times daily
You can use artificial tear drops for your eyes. These drops are available over the counter. Additionally, you can increase your intake of fish oil or omega-3.
This is a common problem with multiple treatments, including OTC artificial tears, prescription eye drops like Restasis and Xiidra, punctal plugs, and more. There are multiple possible causes for dry eye as well, each with its own treatment regimen. Diagnostic testing can be done in the office. Without treatment, dry eye can cause permanent damage to the cornea, and
puts you at greater risk of infection. It is best to see an ophthalmologist for evaluation and treatment soon.

The eyes are usually dry from a lack of oil. So, eating omega-3 vitamins 1200-1400 mg of both flax seed oil and fish oil will help correct the problem. Also, a drop of castor oil before sleep usually helps. Preservative free refresh or sustained or Thera tears will also help during the day but will usually only provide temporary relief.

There are many treatments for dry eye. It’s best to see an ophthalmologist for one of the many prescription treatments for dry. You can start, however, with over the counter artificial tear preparations. SO
