Lost range of motion in the elbow can be caused by subluxation that a chiropractor can fix. It can also be caused by muscle imbalance - like weak triceps and overactive biceps. Tennis elbow may be part of it. Many times it is caused upstream by a weak core especially at the back. So a core workout routine along with gentle stretching and strengthening of the shoulder and arm may help to restore the muscle balance. You may need physical therapy or a chiropractor.
You may need a chiropractic adjustment and some specific stretches depending on your situation
You would want to make sure that all of the bones in the upper and lower arm are aligned as those 3 bones (the humerus, radius, and ulna) create the elbow joint. If any of those are out of place then they could be affecting the end range of motion that is possible. It would need to be known if there were any injuries or traumas that occurred to the elbow or if surgery was ever performed as those may have a long-term effect on the motion that is achievable.
You need to do specific exercises for your elbow to regain the range of motion. Physical therapy and chiropractic care do help with that also.
This is a broad question as I'm not sure if the range of motion has been caused by injury or is chronic due to other causes. But in general, elbow ROM is achieved with flexion/extension activity like tricep/bicep exercises. If an injury has occurred or previously has occurred, X-rays are required to make sure nothing has happened to the bone that is causing the abnormal ROM.
To regain elbow range of motion an elbow adjustment will influence mobility followed by stretching and strengthening
Hi,

There are many reasons why range of motion (ROM) might be limited in an elbow. Here are a couple of questions which need to be asked: What caused the decreased ROM in the first place? Was the elbow in a sling? How long and for what reason? Was there trauma to the elbow itself or was surgery performed? If surgery, what was done? If no surgery, did the
problem come on relatively suddenly or over time. These questions would need to be answered before a solution can be recommended to increase the ROM in your elbow.
Thanks for asking!

Stretching the biceps, triceps, and forearm muscles is the best way to regain elbow range of motion. It may also be necessary to break up scar tissue. Chiropractors and Physical Therapists are trained in such modalities.
Elbows can hurt for a number of reasons, if it is long standing there may be an issue with the alignment in the elbow which a chiropractor could definitely help with, but like you said the most important thing is getting to the cause of the problem and correcting that!
