I do not know what moves to use to "crack" your upper back. However it sounds like you need to stretch your back and some cracking may happen: while seated in a chair with a back, twist to put one hand on opposite side of back of chair and pull. Do the same on the other side. You can also check out some YouTube videos of vinyasa yoga for upper back. Please do not take this advise in place of seeing your own health care provider. I have not examined you, don't know your medical history. If after doing that you still have the problem feel free to schedule a free phone consultation with me. Look for social media page for chronic pain rescue. Best to you.
The best way to treat discomfort in your upper back is to visit a health care professional who will take a detailed history and perform a thorough examination before treating. A chiropractor is a good place to start. It is important to identify the underlying cause of your discomfort and rule out any serious problems.
By getting an adjustment by a trained professional (chiropractor).
Lots of ways to do that, but you have to ask yourself, why would you want to keep doing that? Find out why your back needs cracking. Most times, mid-back discomfort and pain is caused by chronic poor sitting posture, ergonomics of your job, stress, etc. My advice, figure out what is wrong first and that way, you won't want to crack your back anymore.
You should not " crack " your upper back, but stretch it instead. You should consult your local PT to have your posture evaluated and then a customized stretching plan/ home exercise plan made for you.
Increasing your thoracic mobility will not only get some cracks, but it will significantly improve your spine health. You can find thoracic mobility exercises on YouTube.
You should go to a physical therapist who can teach you how to use a stiff foam roller to mobilize each segment of your spine.
