How do you help someone with OCD?

My friend is 30 years old. He was diagnosed with obsessive compulsive disorder. He is stuck in his ways. How do you help someone with OCD?

Medication and therapy
Exposure and response prevention therapy is an excellent treatment with lasting results. Several medications have FDA approval for treating OCD.

The best is not to help perpetuate your friends symptoms, such as repeatedly offering reassurance or allowing excessive checking
OCD is not easy treatable illness. The best results are reached with the combination of psychiatric medications and therapy - CBT (Cognitive Behavior Therapy in particular).
