How do you know if you need a chiropractic adjustment?

I am a 38 year old male. I have had back pain for 2 weeks already. How do you know if you need a chiropractic adjustment?

The best way to know if you need one is to go to one. A chiropractor should take a history, do an exam, determine the cause of you pain, and make appropriate treatment recommendations. The sooner you go, the better. The longer it sets in, the more treatment you will need. If you are 38 and have never been to a chiropractor, the chances are you have some issues already that should have been addressed long ago.
Oh yes, go go go!!! Think of all the things you have done in 38 years? When you start getting adjusted you will love it and feel so good and even be surprised on how much better your systems work like sleeping, energy, stress levels, posture!
It is safe and like I hear from my patients, brings joy back into your life cuz no one wants pain all the time. Good luck!
If the pain and discomfort don't go away in 2 to 5 days, it needs to be evaluated.
Typically, if you have pain for 2 weeks, you need some type of muscle work and adjustment. The body adapts itself to the pain, which usually means it aligns itself to compensate. Correcting the issue involves realigning and releasing the joints involved and retraining the muscles.

When you have back pain that lasts for more than 72 hours that is not relieved by hot/cold packs or pain medication, it's time to go. A muscle strain generally will improve if not aggravated within 48 hours. Yours sounds like a more serious underlying cause and will only worsen if not treated soon.

If you are seeking relief from back pain that you have had for 2 weeks, a Chiropractor would be a good place to start. Your Chiropractor will do a thorough exam and history in order to decide if chiropractic treatment is the best course of treatment for you. If your Chiropractor deems the adjustment and possibly therapy to be your treatment, then odds are you will have a successful treatment and feel better. The first step is making an appointment!
Your brain and nervous system control everything. If you’re experiencing pain, fatigue, sleep issues, digestion issues, focus/concentration issues, blood sugar issues, or flexibility issues, chiropractic may be able to help. Those are all signs of distress in the brain and nervous system. Chiropractic helps to rebalance and neutralize that distress and allow your body to heal itself.
I would argue that everyone with a spine should receive Chiropractic care at least twice per year, as one would see a Dentist. Most people do not seek out Chiropractic until they have back pain, neck pain, or headaches. That being said, if you are having back pain for 2 weeks, Chiropractic should be the next step you take. Pain and restricted movement are classic signs it is time for an adjustment.
