Hello. First you come and see me. Lol. Just joking. Your surgeon should have a booklet ready for you with all the instruction for before and after care. Generally you shouldn’t smoke one month before. You shouldn’t drink alcohol one week before. Vit E, garlic and drugs such as Advil, aspirin and Motrin should also be avoided for a week prior to surgery. If you have any further questions or inquiries please visit my website at Drroya.com. Good luck!
Preparation for nasal surgery generally involves the avoidance of aspirin, Advil, Motrin, and all of the so-called non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs for about two weeks prior to surgery. Taking extra vitamin C complex with bioflavonoids may reduce bruising. Some people believe in Arnica to reduce bruising. Many surgeons ask patients to stop taking birth control pills or other hormones prior to surgery to avoid the possibility of postoperative blood clots. Being in a good nutritional state is always beneficial for healing after any surgical procedure.

Your doctor will have a list of preoperative guidelines for you before your procedure. You will need to quit smoking 2 weeks before your procedure and refrain from taking medication or supplements that thin the blood or may cause excess bleeding. You should also be prepared with any supplies you may need for recovery. These can include Q-tips, hydrogen peroxide, Vaseline, etc.

Simply follow instructions from your operating surgeon, no special preparation needed other than typical preoperative orders. Good luck.
Hello,

In answer to your question: I am a 31 year old female. I want to have a nose job surgery. How do you prepare for a nose job?

1) First, find a surgeon who can go over your problems and desired results. Have the surgeon review anatomy, surgical options, and expected realistic results.
2) If you have scheduled a surgery, stop all blood thinners prior to surgery. Stop aspirin, ibuprofen, and other NSAIDs 2 weeks prior to surgery.
3) Review any supplements that you may take for potential bleeding risk.
4) Look over your calendar. Expect to be swollen/bruised for at least 2-4 weeks after surgery.
5) Limit travel soon after surgery.
