I am a 50 year old male and I will have rectal surgery. How do you sit comfortably after rectal surgery?

You should ask your surgeon this as he may have some great points to help. There are pillows with the center cut out that can be fashioned or bought from home health care area of Walgreens of CVS for this post-op period per se.
This is an excellent question! The best thing is to offload your bottom with memory foam pillow or similar memory foam/gel support cushion. The key is to move position frequently, try not to sit in one position more than 20-30 mins. Laying on your side is another option.
