I am assuming hand surgery? Everyone heals at different rates, however, I recommend you ask your doctor about physical/occupational therapy regardless of how well you feel you are healing as it will help to heal fully.
Unfortunately, I cannot answer that without knowing what kind of surgery you are undergoing. In most elective hand surgeries, you can begin moving your finger right after the surgery, and in most cases, you are encouraged to do so. However, if you are having surgery for a fracture, then your finger(s) may need to be immobilized until your fracture heals. I would suggest that you discuss this with your surgeon.
Well, that really depends on the type of surgery that was performed. The answer could be anywhere from immediate to 6 months.
