“How long should it take to come out of anesthesia after a c-section?”
I am scheduled to undergo a C-section in the next month and the thought of injections and anesthesia, especially while being awake, is starting to really scare me. How long does it take to come out of anesthesia after this?

The recovery after the type of anesthesia given for a C-section is very quick. The recovery is much better than that from general anesthesia where you are completely asleep. The injection around the spinal chord in the back makes it so that you can not feel anything when the procedure is done. You may also receive intravenous medications to help with relaxation and pain. However, the most important aspect is that you are awake and can follow instructions fo the safety of the baby.
It should not take very long at all. I do not know of a C-sections that there was a problem with the anesthesia. Just do what you are told after it is done and you will be OK
Anaesthesia for C-sec is of necessity very light. Otherwise baby is getting too much.. I can't answer your question but would think it would be a matter of a few short minutes.
