Cardiothoracic Surgeon Questions Bypass Surgery

How many follow ups are required after bypass surgery?

I'm 45 years old, male. I need to have a bypass surgery, along with the follow ups my doctor is recommending after it. How many follow ups would I need after this surgery?

I see patients once about two weeks after discharge from surgery.

A few but they are necessary
You will have to follow up with your cardiologist for life at least once a year.
If you have an uncomplicated surgery and post-op course, you will probably need one follow-up visit unless there are wound problems or you develop arrhythmias. Usually, you will see your cardiologist several weeks after your follow-up surgery visit and not go back to the surgeon unless wound problems occur.
