You will start getting better right away. I usually give herbal remedy and 14 acupuncture treatment then to follow with a maintenance plan.
There are many causes of headaches. Migraines are usually associated with Liver and gallbladder. The liver is typically organ that stores blood and is responsible for stress in our emotions. The gallbladder is deeply related to digestion and is associated with emotions such as anxiety. It is also very closely related to the secretion of bitter juice and migraines.
Therefore, migraine headaches sometimes improve with one or two treatments, but in the case of connection with the organs, several treatments are needed because the function of the corresponding organs needs to be normalized.

All depends on what you are getting the acupuncture for, and how long you have had the issue. Generally, the longer you have had the issue the longer it is going to take to heal... and hence the more the treatments
There is not definitive answer to that because it depends on your constitution- every body is different and can react to acupuncture differently. Some people react quickly with acupuncture and some other people might take longer for his or her body to respond to acupuncture. But generally, patients might be able to see changes after 8-10 sessions.
Good morning,
Every person is different. Length of care can vary significantly because of age, length of illness, chronicity, lifestyle, etc. I would advise minimum 6-24 weekly visits to measure change over time, especially if the migraines are infrequent or irregular in their occurrence. Depending on patient compliance there may need to be monthly or bi-monthly follow up. After symptoms are relieved I would recommended quarterly follow up for
maintenance.

The number of sessions you need will be dependent on several factors, as every patient is different. Usually after 5-7 sessions you may begin to feel some kind of shift. If not, speak with your practitioner, as he or she can change up the protocols or tweak aspects of the treatment to help you feel more improvement.
It depends for how long you have this. If it’s chronic, it takes time to get rid of it usually, for good.
Good luck!

The quantity of acupuncture sessions for migraines can vary depending on what’s causing your headache. Most patients start to notice improvements after the first 3 sessions.
Depending on what the cause of the migraine is and whether it is an acute condition or chronic a new patient should come once or twice a week for a month to gauge immediate results of acupuncture as well as the efficacy of any prescriptions that may be necessary. After that, maintenance of 2xs per month for a few months is highly recommended.
Acupuncture can be quite effective for migraines but it's important to give the treatment enough time to work. Our rule of thumb is to re-assess after 6-8 visits since the majority of our patients see relief within this timeframe.
There is really no way to know up front. I tell my patients that if after 3 treatments there is no change, then it didn't work for their case. Usually migraines respond well to acupuncture

In my experience, commonly 4-5 sessions of acupuncture treatment can make the migraine clinically cured.

For chronic migraines, I would recommend 20-30 sessions, even the results are much faster to treat migraines that just recently appear about 10 sessions.
It really is on a case by case basis. Some people start to see results right away, some experience relief after many treatments. Lifestyle factors such as poor sleep, sleeping on an old or non supportive mattress, food allergies or poor eating habits and so on can be the cause or worsen migraine pain. Firstly, you should speak to your doctor about possibly getting an MRI to rule out anything more serious. If you are on any medications, one of them may have migraines listed as a side effect or it could be a bad interaction between meds. I personally have had mixed results with effectiveness. If patients are not willing to make lifestyle changes or they don't come to see me regularly or long enough to give it an honest shot (6-8 treatments) then that could explain why they did not see a change. In the meantime, I would make several suggestions. Limit or cut out known allergy producing foods, such as gluten. Lose weight if that is an issue. Exercise and STRETCH daily. Oftentimes, tight neck or traps can pull on the head and cause headaches. Drink plenty of water....just plain water....room temperature is best, as cold water can trigger migraines. Get more sleep, restful sleep and consistent sleep. A cervical pillow can help place your spine in the correct position for optimal sleep. I hope this was helpful. Good luck!!!
Some patients do get immediate results, and some patients it does take a few treatments. Acupuncture treatments do build on each other. Do a few treatments to see how your body responds.

Hi there.
Your acupuncturist will first have to determine the root cause of your migraine. For women, migraine can be caused by hormonal changes during menstrual cycle, lack of sleep, skipped meals, anxiety, stress, too much caffeine or caffeine withdrawal and even change in weather. Once your acupuncturist determines root cause of your migraine, he/she will be able to carry out the correct treatment plan tailored to meet your body's needs. Typically, it takes 5-6 treatments to see a big change in your symptom.

All depends on your necessity. Acupuncture is not "one size fits all." We have to see what is causing your migraines and go from there.
There is no single answer to your question, because it all depends on your body's response and recovery. I have had success in a single session and other patients took months to become regulated. Just be sure to keep open communication with your practitioner. Let them know about any changes or concerns as you move forward. Remember that you can always switch to a different practitioner if the one you start with isn't helping.
That is dependent upon the effectiveness of the style of acupuncture, the frequency, and your compliance with your practitioner's treatment plan (taking herbs, making dietary changes, etc.).
That being said, if you're not feeling any changes whatsoever within 5-8 treatments, I recommend trying another practitioner or another style of acupuncture.

It's hard to say exactly how many treatments any given patient might require. Some patients respond faster and some respond slower. Some acupuncturists are better at treating headache/migraine than others. Migraine in particular usually has a lifestyle component (stress, diet) which should be addressed in order to achieve relatively quick, lasting results.
I work a lot with headache and migraine. My usual advice is that patients should be seeing a reduction in severity and/or a reduction in frequency somewhere around 3-5 treatments.
