Will my increased sugar levels cause a problem to treat my gum disease?

I'm being treated for my gum issue, but my sugar levels are high. Are these levels causing a delay in my healing problem?

Yes
YES. Decreased ability to heal. Talk to your endocrinologist or internist and a dietician to get some type of plan to reduce your blood sugar. Get frequent cleanings to control the plaque around your teeth and gums (3-4 times per year).
High sugar levels will be greatly related to healing gums and bone. More importantly you are at risk of diabetes. Maybe best to reduce the intake of carbohydrates before things get worse.
Although sugar is the Achilles heel of dental caries, diabetes does not present any more problems than any other systemic disease does where oral hygiene and exceptional care is concerned. Follow your tennis instruction flossing brushing and also remember to limit in between meal snacks for good checkups and a healthy Dental career
Yes, if it is at the diabetic level. So, try to control glucose levels as they do exacerbate periodontal disease.
Are the increased sugar levels temporary or do you have diabetes? If you have diabetes, it does delay the healing process, especially after extraction and definitely can slow down the healing after deep cleaning and periodontal surgery your health professional like your doctor or dentist can explain it better to you.
