Is a back brace good for computer work?

I am a 45 year old female. I am working from home because of the quarantine and have back pain. Is a back brace good for computer work?

The answer is maybe. Back braces can sometimes be helpful and sometimes they don’t help at all. There is no harm in trying one for a while to see if your back pain will reduce. Ideally the brace should be flexible and not rigid. More important is the chair that you sit. Make sure your chair is properly Cushioned and you sit with proper posture and should take breaks by standing briefly several times through your workday.
A back brace isn't the best for computer work as your core muscles will start to rely on the brace for support rather than doing the work to support your core. I would recommend a posture strap or posture shirt while working at the computer to encourage good posture which requires engaging the core.
No, back bracing can make your spine weak. Having good posture is more important.
Back brace probably not as good as other options. Good ergonomic table at appropriat height, good chair with lumbar suppport. Get up every 1-2 hours and move (stretch). Do some back and core exercises daily or every other day. If lifting anything do this appropriately using legs and straight back. Support only if all else fails or maybe with more lifting than usual. Not for just sitting at desk. Also work on good posture. Good luck.
A very good question! And a question I get a lot. More effective would be if you can get a standing desk; or an ergonomic chair where you can be reclined more back; if not, for example, you can get a lumbar support cushion. But a lumbar corset that isn't too restrictive is a good option for sitting and standing with the goal that you take breaks and stand periodically as well.
Sure, I could not argue with using a brace while sitting for long periods of time. However, it's not a cure all. In addition, I would recommend stretching of your hamstrings and back strengthening exercises (look up on google).
Hope it helps!

Brace is useful to keep you erect while working. Wear it only while working
Especially after a spinal surgery, the low back needs support. We suggest the NuForm LSO spine.
The Ovation Medical Nuform Spinal LSO

I would prefer your core to be strong enough to handle good posture and positioning. However, if needed for a short period of time I would make sure the brace you select fits you and how your work is performed.
