Dentist Questions Tooth extraction

Is having a molar extraction painful?

I need to have a tooth extraction for one of my molars. Is having a molar extraction painful?

Typically, an experienced oral surgeon will numb the area with a local anesthetic and extract the tooth. The local anesthetic blocks the pain fibers, but it is normal to feel pressure and pushing. However, if you have an infected or “hot tooth” that has been hurting for a long time, it may be more difficult to numb the tooth. Depending on a patients medical history, this may warrant office sedation for patient comfort without any pain.
Hope that answers your question.

It depends there are many factors involved in pain if your tooth comes out easily and there’s no infection you may be really need an Advil however if it’s an impacted wisdom tooth and they have to cut away bone and this infected tooth that can be very painful so it varies based on what tooth is being removed and the condition of the tooth
