“Is it safe to do yoga with lumbago?”
I have some minor lower back pain or lumbago and I want to do yoga with some friends of mine. Is it safe to do yoga with lumbago?

Yes. The absolute best treatment for chronic low back pain is stretching and strengthening. Yoga does both.

Yes, yoga can be very helpful for low back pain. A common cause of LBP is tight muscles near the spine, pelvis and hamstrings. Yoga can help to stretch those muscles and loosen the tightness of those muscles. Of course, anything that makes the pain worse or causes it to spread down the legs or cause numbness should be avoided. If any of those symptoms occur, you should see your physician.
